  Step 2 Underline the descriptions about the Time.

• Para 21: the moon was below the hills

• Para 23: in the dark the old man could feel the morning coming

• Para 25: as it started to be light

• Para 29: it was quite light and any moment now the sun would rise

• Para 30: the sun rose thinly from the sea

  Step 5 “Iceberg Theory”

       1932年，海明威在他的纪实性作品《午夜之死》中，提出著名的“冰山理论”。文学作品中，文字和形象是所谓的“八分之一”，而情感和思想是所谓的“八分之七”。前两者是具体可见的，后两者是寓于前两者之中的，也就是说采用象征的写作手法。象征就是根据事物彼此间的某种联系，借助具体事物的形象来表现某种抽象事物的含义，思想等。

  Step 6 Self-reflection

    我所讲解的第二部分是从第10页到第19页，从老人下海到发现与大鱼陷入僵局。因为在给学生准备的单词里，对里面出现的生词与长难句都进行了详细的注解，所以我把讲解的重点放在解读文章的象征现象上。

    但是，学生听后普遍反映偏难。而且我对于老人品质在文中具体句子的体现也讲解的不够细致，太笼统。下次会侧重语言细节分析，备课会更符合学生实际情况。
